Mission Statement
The mission of the South Carolina Jail Administrators Association (SCJAA) is to promote professionalism through training; to promote unity, to address relevant jail issues; to promote fellowship and good will amongst those who serve within the criminal justice system; and continually strive to promote a positive image of professional and ethical behavior to the community and citizenry it serves.
The Association shall be composed of Jail Administrators or persons responsible to Sheriffs, City/County Administrators or Regional Boards for the operation of city/county detention facilities, county prisons, or regional detention centers in South Carolina; their employees, South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC) employees, Vendors, and retired Jail Administrators, jail employees and SCDC employees who were members in good standing upon their retirement.

Scholarship Program
Each year, the South Carolina Jail Administrators' Association awards a minimum of two scholarships to enhance the academic pursuits of those presently working in the field of local corrections as well as the spouses and children of jail employees.
